I was born and raised in Barry, South Wales and attended university in Nottingham more years ago than I care to remember (but which someone can usually be relied on to remind me of) where I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Politics and Government.
I have lived in Powys since 1987 working firstly for Montgomeryshire District Council and then Powys County Council, latterly as Head of Housing.
After leaving Powys Council in October 2014, I took on a variety of roles including working for Hughes Architects as a housing consultant before joining the company on a part-time basis in February 2016.
My role includes working with councils and housing associations, as well as all the bits such as business planning, governance and developing the company’s brochures. Just don’t ask me to do architectural drawings, otherwise you’ll get something that resembles a cartoon dog that looks like a cat or something.
Outside of work I run when I can and write extensively for music publications - a misspent middle age activity which extends to the occasional bit of merchandising and gig promotion. Just don’t ask me to play guitar otherwise you’ll get something that sounds like a cartoon dog impersonating a cat...or something.
