Caroline Orrells

I first met Doug in 2002 when I started working as his secretary in his first Newtown office alongside my colleague Adam.  Due to family commitments as a Foster Carer I left in November 2013 but kept in touch as my parents and daughter became clients.  Over the years as the team has grown at Hughes Architects and the office has expanded I have been back to work alongside Doug and his team.  My main role is a PA for Richard and helping with all administration tasks whenever needed along with various cups of tea to keep everyone going.

I live in Newtown with my husband Steve. We have three children (27, 29 and 33) and one very grown up granddaughter. We try to be a fit family and have encouraged all the children to keep fit especially actively running over the years. I have been running for 18 years and find I am getting slower and wider over time but with me it is all about plodding along country lanes and enjoying the countryside and encouraging women of all abilities to take up running. My greatest achievement was getting selected to run with the Olympic Torch in May 2012 which I have pride of place in our house.
