Nick Burnside

My first experience of the building industry was when my family moved to Newtown when I was eight and we built our own house (my dad was a local architect for 20 years).

This formed my interest in building design which has been with me ever since.

After attending Newtown High School and Coleg Powys, I gained my degree in Architectural Tehcnology from the University of Huddersfield in 1993. I have worked at various architectural practices in Shrewsbury and Newtown before joining Hughes Architects in October 2017.

I have worked on projects as varied as large scale schools, hospitals and leisure facilities, as well as smaller refurbishments, housing developments and landscaping schemes.

Outside of work I like spending my time with my family, listening to music and going for days out in the local area.

I also have an interest in landscape design and gardening. Other interests include attending football matches and motorsport events.
