Adam Watkins

Architectural Technician

After a successful work placement with Hughes Architects in 2002 I was offered a permanent position in March 2003. This opportunity gave me the valuable experience within the Construction Industry and also the time to work towards my qualification as a Professionally Qualified Architectural Technician (TCIAT).

In 2008 I was fully recognised as a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and since my qualification I have been made the Head of our Welshpool Office after overseeing its refurbishment in 2015. The primary element of my job role is to oversee the design and build of projects and front up the technical design so a fully detailed build can be completed. My work takes me throughout Mid Wales, Shrewsbury and Shropshire and sometimes further afield.

Outside of work I enjoy watching my beloved Aston Villa play and often try to drag my Dad to as many games as possible, but with the season we are having he is not so keen. Originally from South Wales I was brought up in Mid Wales and have been stuck here ever since... I love the place really.

My fiancée Iona and I enjoy travelling and seeing the world and have just completed a 4 week trip of the West Coast of America. No holidays for a while though as we now need to plan for our big day and perhaps our own little Grand Design project... watch this space.

In the meantime you'll find me heading up our office at Welshpool, as well as meeting clients throughout Mid Wales and the borders, including Powys, Ceredigion, Shropshire and Herefordshire.
